Scannerz Network provides live and recorded public safety scanner audio, related call information, mobile access, and services for participating feed providers. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Scannerz Network websites, applications, and related services.

Information We Collect

Scannerz Network does not require ordinary listeners to provide a name, email address, or other personal account information in order to listen to available scanner feeds.

If you voluntarily apply to host a feed or create an authorized account, information you submit may include:

• Username
• Email address
• Account credentials
• Feed name
• General feed location
• Information you provide about the proposed feed

This information is used to review applications, administer accounts, manage scanner feeds, provide access to authorized services, communicate about the service, and protect Scannerz Network from misuse.

Account Security

Passwords are not intended to be stored as readable plain text. Account credentials are processed using security measures designed to protect account access.

Authorized feed providers may also receive access credentials or API keys for Scannerz Network services. These credentials should be kept private and should not be shared publicly.

Technical Information

Scannerz Network requires an internet connection to provide scanner audio, call information, account services, and related application data.

As with most internet services, Scannerz Network servers and hosting infrastructure may temporarily process standard technical information such as an IP address, connection time, device or browser information, request information, and server log data.

This information may be used for security, troubleshooting, service reliability, listener statistics, abuse prevention, and operation of Scannerz Network.

Scanner Audio

Scannerz Network distributes scanner radio audio supplied by participating feeds. Scannerz Network applications do not use your device microphone to record you or upload microphone audio as part of normal listening.

Scanner audio and related information may include agency names, talkgroup or channel information, timestamps, call information, and other metadata associated with scanner transmissions.

Notifications

Scannerz Network applications may use device notification features or background/foreground service functionality when required to support playback, alerts, or other application features.

Notification permissions are controlled through your device and may be disabled using your device settings where supported.

Location Information

Scannerz Network does not require ordinary listeners to provide precise GPS location information in order to listen to scanner feeds.

Feed providers may voluntarily provide a general location describing the area covered by their scanner feed.

Advertising

Scannerz Network does not currently display third-party advertising within its scanner listening service.

Sale of Personal Information

Scannerz Network does not sell personal information.

Third-Party Services

Scannerz Network may rely on hosting providers, internet infrastructure, notification systems, application distribution platforms, or other technical services required to operate and distribute the service.

Those services may process technical information according to their own privacy policies and operational requirements.

Data Retention

Technical logs, account information, feed information, scanner call data, and other operational information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve Scannerz Network.

Account and feed information may also be retained when necessary to maintain service records, prevent abuse, or comply with applicable requirements.

Security

Reasonable technical and administrative measures are used to protect the systems used to operate Scannerz Network. However, no internet service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Scannerz Network is a general-audience service and is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Scannerz Network adds or changes features. The effective date shown at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
